CIEH Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) HSE approved

Dates::

All employers are required to make provision for first-aid. This does not always mean that they have to employ trained first-aiders but by doing so they will have helped to comply with legislation and it may contribute to saving a life.

From 1 October 2009 new changes to the first aid training regime were introduced to give businesses and organisations greater flexibility. Course have now been shortened and streamlined offering more effect training to a higher standard.

This streamlining has enabled us to tailor courses and make them more relevant to a particular business or organisation. We have delivered to hikers, athletes, equestrian event organisers, alternative therapists, yachtsmen & care workers for example.

The EFAW training and assessment will cover the following topics:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Assessment and management of first aid incidents
  • Management of an unconscious casualty
  • Management of a casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Management of a casualty who is choking
  • Management of a casualty who has a bleeding injury
  • Management of a casualty who is in shock
